שנים רבות לפני פעטרבורג הופיע פעם רבינו הזקן בפני הקהל ואמר: בגן-עדן חשים ביוקרו של עולם הזה; לא מיבעי מלאכי השרת, אפילו נאצלים הראשונים - היו מוותרים על הכל בעבור "אמן יהא שמיה רבא" של יהודי שאומרו בכל כחו, כפירושו, בכל כוונתו - כלומר שהוא מונח בזה. אלה היו כל דבריו שפעלו אצל שומעיו התלהבות והתלהטות כה רבה עד שכל השנה אמרו 'אמן-יהא-שמיה-רבא' בלהט.

Hayom Yom (היום יום, “day by day”) is an anthology of Chassidic aphorisms and customs with one entry for every day of the Hebrew year. It was compiled in 1942 by Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneerson, the Lubavitcher Rebbe, at the instruction of his father-in-law, the Previous Rebbe.
