ברכת "שפטרני" [שמברך האב על בן הנכנס לעול מצוות] מברכים בלא שם ומלכות, ומברכים אותה גם ביום ב', ה', בר"ח, ולאו דוקא בשבת. מקובל בידינו בשם מורינו הבעש"ט: כששומעים דבר לא טוב על אחד מישראל, גם אם אין מכירים אותו, צריך להצטער צער רב, כי אחד מהם הוא בודאי לא טוב: אם אמת הדבר שמספרים על פלוני - הלא הוא לא טוב; ואם אינו אמת - הלא המספר נמצא במצב לא טוב.

Hayom Yom (היום יום, “day by day”) is an anthology of Chassidic aphorisms and customs with one entry for every day of the Hebrew year. It was compiled in 1942 by Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneerson, the Lubavitcher Rebbe, at the instruction of his father-in-law, the Previous Rebbe.
