במנחה אין אומרים תחנון. אצל כ"ק אבותינו רבותינו הקדושים, הרי שמלבד הענין של התעוררות רחמים על המקושרים - היתה עבודה של הזכרת המקושרים בינו לבין עצמו, ולהתבונן בענין אהבתם והתקשרותם, כמים הפנים, שזה מעורר את כוחותיו הפנימיים של זה שמתבוננים אודותיו, כפי שרואים במוחש שכאשר מביטים בחזקה על אדם, נאלץ הוא להחזיר מבט, כי הבטה פנימית מעוררת עצם הנפש - וכך גם בכח המחשבה.
