גם העולה לתורה אומר חזק חזק ונתחזק. באמירת ויהי נועם במוצש"ק כופלים פסוק אורך ימים גו', אבל לא בתפלת שחרית. בהיות ה"צמח צדק" ילד, שאל את זקנו האדמו"ר הזקן: היתכן שיעקב אבינו, בחיר האבות, יהיו מבחר שנות חייו - יז שנה שגר בארץ מצרים 'ערות הארץ'? ויעננו אדמו"ר הזקן: כתיב "ואת יהודה שלח לפניו אל יוסף להורות לפניו גשנה", ואיתא במדרש - "להתקין לו בית תלמוד, שתהא שם תורה". 'להורות לפניו' - על ידי לימוד תורה מתקרבים לקב"ה, באופן שגם במצרים הוא בבחי' "ויחי" - בחיות.

Hayom Yom (היום יום, “day by day”) is an anthology of Chassidic aphorisms and customs with one entry for every day of the Hebrew year. It was compiled in 1942 by Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneerson, the Lubavitcher Rebbe, at the instruction of his father-in-law, the Previous Rebbe.
