נשיאי חב"ד נהגו להעביר [שנים מקרא ואחד תרגום] פרשה או שתים ביום חמישי בערב; ביום שישי אחר חצות היו מעבירים את כל הסדרה עם ההפטורה; שבת בבוקר לפני התפילה נהגו שוב להעביר משביעי. החלומות הטובים בעניני תורה שמודיעים בחלום, באים על פי הרוב ע"י שקידה גדולה בתורה ביום. דכאשר עוסק בתורה בשקידה גדולה, הנה כאשר בלילה נשמתו עולה למעלה ושואבת לה חיים - הנה אז מודיעים לו חידושי תורה, איש איש כפי שקידת עבודתו בעבודת היום.

Hayom Yom (היום יום, “day by day”) is an anthology of Chassidic aphorisms and customs with one entry for every day of the Hebrew year. It was compiled in 1942 by Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneerson, the Lubavitcher Rebbe, at the instruction of his father-in-law, the Previous Rebbe.
