באחת ההתוועדויות אמר אאמו"ר [הרש"ב]: הקב"ה ברא את העולם וכל הדברים הגשמיים מאין ליש, וישראל צריכים להפוך את ה"יש" ל"אין"; את הגשמיות לרוחניות. העבודה שבהפיכת הגשמיות לרוחניות ואת הגשמי לעשות כלי לרוחניות - זוהי חובת גברא. בזה מחוייב כל אחד ואחד בפרט.
