כל החדש אין אומרים תחנון. אחר אמירת הנשיא אומרים יהי רצון הנדפס בסידור "תורה - אור", וגם כהנים ולויים אומרים אותו. אאמו"ר [הרש"ב] ציוה לגיסו הרמ"ה [הר' משה הורנשטיין] הכהן לאמר ה"יהי רצון" שאחר ה"נשיא", ואמר לו כי אפילו כהן ולוי [שהינו ודאי משבט לוי] צריך לאומרו, [אף שמוזכר שם "ואם אני משבט (פלוני).." - המשתנה בכל יום ומתייחס לשבטו של הנשיא של אותו יום -] כי זה שייך לעיבור [=נשמה משבט אחר המתעברת בנשמתו].

Hayom Yom (היום יום, “day by day”) is an anthology of Chassidic aphorisms and customs with one entry for every day of the Hebrew year. It was compiled in 1942 by Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneerson, the Lubavitcher Rebbe, at the instruction of his father-in-law, the Previous Rebbe.
