"ודברת בם בשבתך גו'" ואמרו רז"ל: ודברת בם בדברי תורה הכתוב מדבר. אמנם בעסק התורה גופא יש כמה חלוקי מדריגות: בשבתך בביתך הוא מעמד הנשמה למעלה באוצר הנשמות, קודם ירידתה למטה, ועוסקת שם בתורה. בלכתך בדרך - קאי על הזמן שהנשמה יורדת מעולם לעולם, עד בואה למטה לעולם התחתון ומתחיל ללכת בדרך עולם זה עד ימי זקנה ושיבה. ובשכבך - בבוא ימי פקודתו, וגם אז התורה תשמור עליו. ובקומך - כאמור "והקיצות גו'".

Hayom Yom (היום יום, “day by day”) is an anthology of Chassidic aphorisms and customs with one entry for every day of the Hebrew year. It was compiled in 1942 by Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneerson, the Lubavitcher Rebbe, at the instruction of his father-in-law, the Previous Rebbe.
