אאמו"ר [הרש"ב] סיפר: הדרוש "וארא גו' ושמי ד' גו'" המדבר בענין כי לא ידח ממנו נדח, קנה לו שם "דער פרומער וארא" [="וארא הצדקני"], והיה רגיל רבינו הזקן לחזור אותו אחת לשלש שנים, ובכל פעם ופעם כמעט שהיה אומר אותו כלשונו. ואמר ה"צמח צדק": בכל פעם היה זה אור חדש. והגיב אבא: ה'אור' שווה הוא תמיד, אך 'מאור' הוא בכל פעם כדבר חדש.

Hayom Yom (היום יום, “day by day”) is an anthology of Chassidic aphorisms and customs with one entry for every day of the Hebrew year. It was compiled in 1942 by Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneerson, the Lubavitcher Rebbe, at the instruction of his father-in-law, the Previous Rebbe.
