בתחילה היה רבינו הגדול [אדמו"ר הזקן] אומר דרושים קצרים במאוד, מרעישי הלב ומלהיבים מאד, ונקראו בשם "דרכים", אח"כ נקראו "אגרות" והם ארוכים יותר. אח"כ השתלשל שנקראו "תורות" והם שרשי הדרושים שב"תורה-אור" ו"לקוטי-תורה", אח"כ ארוכים מעט יותר ונקראו "כתבים", והם בביאור בהשגה רחבה לפי ערך.

Hayom Yom (היום יום, “day by day”) is an anthology of Chassidic aphorisms and customs with one entry for every day of the Hebrew year. It was compiled in 1942 by Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneerson, the Lubavitcher Rebbe, at the instruction of his father-in-law, the Previous Rebbe.
