"אנן פועלי דיממא אנן" [=אנו פועלי יום אנו]. יום הוא אור; עבודתנו היא עבודת האור, להאיר העולם באור תורה. ומלבד כי צריכים לעמוד במעמד ומצב טוב בעצמו - הנה כל העבודה היא לזכות להעמיד תלמידים, אנשים יסודיים, אשר יהיו מסורים בלבם ודעתם אל הכוונה הפנימית. שאינו מספיק לימוד תורה הנגלית וחיבוב הקודש בשמירת המצוות, כי אם צריכים גם עבודה שבלב.

Hayom Yom (היום יום, “day by day”) is an anthology of Chassidic aphorisms and customs with one entry for every day of the Hebrew year. It was compiled in 1942 by Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneerson, the Lubavitcher Rebbe, at the instruction of his father-in-law, the Previous Rebbe.
